Le Rock | 45 Rockefeller Plaza

Anyone familiar with the dining scene in Manhattan knows that Frenchette is a must-visit for those in the know. Now, the team behind that modern classic has opened Le Rock in the iconic Rockefeller Center. The New York Times notes that with Le Rock launching this past summer, there’s no reason to head to Tribeca to get a fully “Downtown” dining experience. With nods to the building’s art-deco inspo, Le Rock is a throwback experience with unparalleled service and world-class food. While the decor is gorgeous, it’s the menu of haute dishes that really stands out. Start with a plate of rich garlicky escargot, then take your time as you indulge in the expertly seasoned duck aux épices.

Lodi | 1 Rockefeller Plaza

Close to Le Rock in Rockefeller Center is an atmospheric and tiny place that transports you to the spirited streets of cosmopolitan Milan. This piccolo cafe is modeled after those in that Italian fashion capital. Located right across the street from Rockefeller Center’s iconic skating rink, this is a great place to start an early morning with an espresso and a pastry or grab an aperitivo before you head to a big dinner after work. And don’t forget to try a signature panini—you won’t be disappointed.

Pebble Bar | 67 West 49th Street

If you’ve ever looked at Rockefeller Center from across 6th Avenue, you may have noticed two incongruous townhouses on either side of the colossal building. These holdouts have been around for well over a century and a half. The second and third floor of one of these historic buildings was once known as Hurley’s, a bar where the likes of Johnny Carson and David Letterman had a post-show tipple or two. Now you can join in the grand tradition and have a sip yourself at Pebble Bar, which occupies the former space of Hurley’s. Whether you want a handcrafted cocktail on the second floor or some tasty bites, like steak tartare or oysters, on the third, the Pebble Bar is the newest place to see and be seen.
